Mass Text is the Chicago based psychedelic pop collective led by Chris Sutter (Meat Wave, Truman & His Trophy). Mass Text is a sonic departure from Chris's previous bands and rich with menacing melodies drenched in reverb.
Mass Text has been simmering quietly since mid-2024 with just a few digital singles and a handful of shows, including a run of shows with Dehd in the UK in 2025. After seeing the Glasgow show, Static Sounds Club wrote, “His sound felt like it had seeped in from the edges of a dream, each song blooming with gorgeous decay and bittersweet melody.” This new musical project carves out its own lane appealing to fans of Galaxie 500, Destroyer, and Atlas Sound.
Mass Text are putting the final touches on a debut full length record produced by Jason Balla (Dehd, Accessory) and plan to tour in 2027 with a live band featuring members of Destroyer, Deeper, and Doom Flower.
